Full Description

The Naval Air Systems Command, Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA209), intends to award a Sole Source Contract to Harris Corporation, Government Communications Systems Division, Melbourne FL for an obsolescence upgrade to the Fibre Channel Network Switch (FCNS). The obsolescence upgrade will provide but is not limited to: management and coordination of the FCNS upgrade activity, qualification unit fabrication and delivery, integration, and support for the Government qualification effort for the upgraded FCNS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under authority 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and not other supplies for services will satisfy agency requirements. Harris Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole source manufacturer of the FCNS as such is the only firm with them requisite knowledge, experience and technical stat to successfully deliver the FCNS system to meet the requirements of the F/A 18E/F, E/A-18G and E-2D production aircraft delivery schedule. While this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability to respond to this requirement and may submit information that shall be considered by the Naval Air Systems Command.
