AI Contract Overview
The Nevada National Security Sites, operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC under the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, encompasses a vast federal facility in southeastern Nevada and includes several supporting operations across the country, such as the North Las Vegas Facility, Remote Sensing Labs, and specialized laboratories in California and New Mexico. A pre-solicitation effort is currently underway to gather industry input for the life-cycle management of fire suppression systems at three key locations: the NNSS in Mercury, NV, the North Las Vegas Facility, and the Remote Sensing Lab in Las Vegas. The initiative seeks to assess market capabilities for comprehensive services including Inspection, Testing and Maintenance, Architect/Engineer and Fire Protection Engineering design, and Design-Build modernization and construction work to ensure system integrity and compliance across these critical sites. This Request for Information and Expression of Interest, issued under solicitation number PP-001 and classified under NAICS code 238210, is open for responses until August 11, 2026. The procurement is not subject to any small business set-asides and is managed by the NNSA Mo Contracting office based in Albuquerque, NM, with the primary point of contact being Amy Justice. Responses will inform the development of a future contract strategy aimed at fostering robust competition, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and effectively managing operational risks associated with fire suppression systems across these geographically dispersed but nationally significant facilities. All feedback is intended to shape a contracting framework that aligns industry capabilities with the Department of Energy’s mission-critical security and safety requirements.
