Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Special Effects Displays for Events for a Three (3) Year Period

The City of Brampton is seeking proposals under RFP2026-297 for a contractor to provide fireworks and pyrotechnic special effects displays for a three-year term from November 1, 2026, to October 31, 2029, with the possibility of two one-year extensions. The scope of work includes the creative design, technical planning, safety management, and execution of customized displays for major events such as Canada Day, Diwali, and New Year's Eve. Requirements include displays of at least 15 minutes for specific events, professionally mixed soundtracks, and the provision of all necessary labor, equipment, and permits. The successful bidder must provide Natural Resources Canada Operator Certificates for display fireworks, special effects pyrotechnicians, and display supervisors ten days prior to each event. Award selection is based on the most qualified bidder providing the greatest overall benefit, determined by the lowest price per point following a multi-step evaluation process. Contractors must adhere to strict safety and regulatory standards, including the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. Mandatory requirements include a valid WSIB Clearance Certificate, a minimum of 2 million dollars in auto liability insurance, and compliance with the City's Fair Wage Policy. Payment is made via electronic transfer within 30 days of receiving an approved invoice. All hazardous materials must be labeled according to provincial and federal laws, and the contractor is responsible for the complete removal and legal disposal of all debris following each event.
