Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reading (ALPR) Camera Installation Project

The Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reading (ALPR) Camera Installation Project is being executed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office to enhance public safety and law enforcement capabilities. The project involves the installation of an ALPR camera and a supporting solar panel on an existing light pole located at WB I-10 at the AG Point of Entry in Blythe, California. The primary objective is to enable law enforcement to detect and intercept vehicles associated with criminal activity. The installation is designed to cause no ground disturbance and requires no further alteration to the existing pole. Due to its nature as a minor alteration to existing facilities, the project is categorically exempt from further environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(b). Lieutenant Victor Pierson serves as the primary point of contact for the project, which has an entitlement and action date of October 10, 2025.
