Hillsborough County is proceeding with a noncompetitive procurement to Xylem Water Solutions U.S.A., Inc. for the supply of Flygt pump equipment, OEM replacement parts, and associated labor, with an increased contract value of $5,670,000, bringing the total from $7,250,310 to $12,920,310. This contract modification supports the County’s Capital Improvement Program, specifically the Countywide Major Wastewater Pump Stations Refurbish project, which involves rehabilitating and replacing pump stations across Hillsborough County. The procurement is classified as a sole source due to the necessity of maintaining interchangeability and compatibility within the County’s integrated wastewater management system, and because these items are only reasonably available from Xylem in Florida. The County also plans to enhance the discount rate from 9.5% to 10% for OEM parts and equipment. The County reserves the right to extend, modify, or increase the scope of the contract based on evolving needs and conditions. Contractors who believe they can provide similar goods or services are invited to submit challenges with supporting evidence by the specified response deadline of February 14, 2024. The County will review any valid challenges to determine if genuine competition exists before finalizing the award. For further information or to submit a challenge, interested parties can contact Lisa Dimina via email.
