Minnow Lake Provincial Recreation Area (MinnowLPRA) is located 20km east of Edson on Hwy 16 and 20km south on Wolf Lake Road. The boat launch is constructed of concrete pads that have moved due to spring ice damming and no longer provide safe access for boat launching. Immediate repairs are required to restore and improve the boat launch. The work includes extending the boat launch into deeper water by establishing the required grade and installing a granular base, replacing broken concrete pads with new supplied concrete pads, and installing washed river rock along the edges of the boat launch to protect against erosion and undermining. In addition, drainage improvements are required along the roadway leading down to the boat launch to reduce surface water issues, improve runoff management, and prevent further deterioration of the access route to the launch area. The existing boat launch at the day use area is approximately 3050 mm wide x 9145 mm long. The boat launch is constructed of 21 concrete pads. Each concrete pad is approximately 3050 mm wide x 250 mm long x 150 mm thick. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The goal of this project is to complete upgrades to the boat launch at MinnowLPRA to provide improved boat launch access to the public.
