Raytheon Co. Integrated Defense Systems has been awarded a firm-fixed-price order valued at 7,852,566 dollars under a basic ordering agreement for Aegis Modernization production requirements. The contract focuses on the production of various ordnance alteration kits, including Multi-Mission Signal Processor and Kill Assessment System kits, as well as Radio Frequency Coherent Combiner kits, power supply capacitors, monitoring circuits, and stabilized master oscillators. If all options are exercised, the total cumulative value of the order could reach 18,041,587 dollars. The project is funded primarily by the Navy, with a small portion allocated to the government of Japan through the Foreign Military Sales program. Work is distributed across several locations, with the majority performed in Chesapeake, Virginia, and various sites in Massachusetts, with an expected completion date of September 2019. This order was not competitively procured because Raytheon was identified as the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency requirements. The Naval Sea Systems Command serves as the contracting activity for this effort.
