FY26-DDOT-IPMA-Metropolitan Branch Trail - Blair Rd to Piney Branch Rd NW

The contract involves the construction engineering design for a multi-use trail extending from Blair Road and Aspen Street NW at the southern end to the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Eastern Avenue NW at the northern end, completing a critical connection between two existing segments of the Metropolitan Branch Trail along its western alignment as outlined in the Concept Plan. The scope encompasses comprehensive project management, coordination with multiple agencies, extensive public involvement efforts, and a full suite of technical services including surveying, mapping, right of way acquisition, traffic and utility analyses, geotechnical investigations, and detailed trail and structural design. Additional deliverables include storm drainage and stormwater management systems, sediment control measures, temporary traffic control plans, signing and pavement markings, lighting design, traffic engineering solutions, landscaping, and the preparation of full construction cost estimates, specifications, and quality assurance and quality control protocols to ensure compliance and durability.
