The contract involves the renewal of software licenses for Trellix under a Firm-Fixed Price call order to be awarded by the 700th Contracting Squadron of the Department of Defense. This procurement will be conducted in accordance with the Department of the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) 17-1203, which mandates all software acquisitions go through the Department of War Enterprise Software Initiative (DoW ESI) BPA holders. The exact BPA to be used will be selected following a fair opportunity notice to eligible vendors, with the anticipated award date set for March 20, 2026. Trellix is identified as the sole source for this software license renewal because DAFMAN 17-1203 overrides general procurement procedures, specifying that software be acquired through DoW ESI rather than the GSA. Market research has determined that only two vendors holding DoW ESI BPAs—Optiv Federal Inc. DBA Optiv + ClearShark and August Schell Enterprises—are capable of fulfilling this requirement. This procurement will not request competitive quotes as it complies fully with mandated procedures, and the place of performance is Einsiedlerhof Air Station. The contract falls under NAICS code 541519, with the primary point of contact being Aubreeana Taylor.
