Z- Bangtails ATV Trail Construction on the Bozeman Ranger District of the Gallatin National Forest. Project location is in the Bangtail Mountains Northeast of Bozeman, MT. Follow highway 86 North approximately 9 miles to the Olsen Creek road. Follow this road for 6 miles into the project area. There are multiple entry points into the project area. The project is scattered throughout numerous sections of T1S, R8E and T 1N, R8E. Description of work: Construct and Re-construct approximately 7.7 miles of ATV trail and construct/install other trail improvements along an additional 29 miles of existing road and ATV trails in the Bangtail Mountains Northeast of Bozeman, MT. Work includes new trail construction, reconditioning of existing tread, obliteration, sign installation, erosion control, bridge installation and other misc. work. The trails will be built to an ATV standard using mechanized equipment. Magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. No pre-bid site tour is planned so contractors are required to inspect the site on their own. Contract time is approximately 140 days. WOrk is estimated to begin in September 2010.
