The Naval Research Laboratory plans to negotiate a contract with Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. for the procurement of a series of ruggedized ORTEC GEM Coaxial P-Type HPGe Gamma Ray Detectors, specifically model GEM100P4-108HE-S. These detectors will be integrated into an existing prototype stand-off radiation detection system. The initial contract award will cover 15 detectors along with installation and testing. Additionally, there are two option periods: the first option for an extra 15 detectors and the second option for 10 more detectors, both also including installation and testing. It is essential that the detectors be fully functional, operationally compatible, and interchangeable with the current cryogenic mechanical interface used in the existing system. This contract is being awarded on a non-competitive basis under the statutory authority that allows for sole source procurement when only one responsible source exists, due to the unique mechanical interface requirements which only the incumbent vendor can support. The acquisition will follow FAR Part 12, governing commercial item acquisitions. Although the competition is limited, other vendors may submit capability statements for consideration. Points of contact include Eric J Sogard, Contract Specialist, and Carol Parnell, Contracting Officer. Additional business opportunities from the Naval Research Laboratory are accessible via their official contract listings website.
