The Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division intends to award a sole-source, firm fixed price contract to General Dynamics Satellite Communications for the purchase and turnkey installation of a 7.3m Cassegrain Ku-band antenna system. This equipment will serve as a backup to three existing antennas at the Corona, California ground station, facilitating high-speed data transfer and secure voice communications with Navy ships during Ballistic Missile Defense and Combat Ship System Qualification Trial events. The procurement is classified as a commercial item under NAICS 334220, and the government has determined that a sole-source award is in its best interest to maintain consistency with existing inventory and avoid non-recoupable costs associated with new model numbers. The technical scope of the contract includes the Model 7.3 KXK antenna with a galvanized kingpost pedestal, a comprehensive servo interface kit, and a Model 7200 Antenna Control System featuring orbit prediction tracking. Additional critical components include a digital tracking receiver, tunable LNBs, a 1:1 redundant SSPA system, and an upgrade to the NetMAC system to integrate the new hardware. This acquisition will complete the government's inventory objective for this specific antenna model, and no further units are anticipated.

The Performance Assessment (PA) Department of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division intends to award a sole-source, firm fixed price contract to General Dynamics Satellite Communications (GDSATCOM) for a 7.3m Ku-band satellite antenna to provide high data rate transfer between ships and the Ground Station in Corona CA. Purchase of a 7.3m Cassegrain Ku-band Antenna System and turnkey installation service will provide a backup antenna for the first three 7.3m antennas which PA has already purchased from GDSATCOM. The 7.3m Ku-band antenna is a key component of the Ground station, which provides secure voice communications and high speed data transferring. This antenna will be used to communicate with navy's ships during Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Combat Ship System Qualification Trial (CSSQT) events. The cost associated with a new model number would not be recouped as a result of a competitive procurement and are not in the government's best interest. No additional units are anticipated, as this buy will complete the inventory objective. The Government intends to award a sole-source, firm fixed price contract to General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, 2600 N. Longview Street, Kilgore, TX 75662. This procurement is commercial item IAW FAR Part 13. The associated NAICS Classification is 334220 and the size standard is 750 employees.
