The U.S. Air Force, through the Air Force Sustainment Center’s 422nd Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the new manufacture of generator spares with part number 517938-1-1 and NSN 6115008188189HY, intended for use on KC135 platforms. This effort, identified under Notice ID FD20302700031, is a Sources Sought synopsis under FAR Part 10 and is not a solicitation or binding contract request; no funds are available at this time, and no awards will be made based on responses. The government seeks to evaluate the competitive landscape and determine whether the requirement for approximately 63 units can be fulfilled through a small business set-aside or other acquisition strategy, with interest in large businesses, small businesses, and designated socioeconomic categories including 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, and women-owned small businesses. Potential vendors must demonstrate the capability to manufacture the item from raw materials, manage supply chains, address diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages, perform inspection and testing, and handle preservation, packaging, and shipping, while also accounting for potential nonrecurring engineering costs associated with qualification. Responses must be submitted through the designated workflow email, 422.scms.afmc.rfi@us.af.mil, and interested parties are required to select the “Add Me to Interested Vendors” button to participate in this market research effort. The NAICS code 336413 applies with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and the Federal Stock Class is 6115. Place of performance is specified as Tinker AFB, OK 73145. All dates referenced are in Central Standard Time, with the response deadline set for July 15, 2026. The government will use collected vendor capabilities and capacity information to inform future acquisition planning, which may include breaking the requirement down by airframe, but no contract is anticipated from this activity. The procurement is under the Department of Defense, specifically the Department of the Air Force, with AMC/AMSC code 3/D.
