The County of Riverside Transportation Department will be conducting geotechnical borings, utility potholing and a percolation test for ground studies and information collection for the proposed Calle Contento Roundabout Project, which is located at the intersection of Rancho California Road and Calle Contento, in the Community of Rancho California. The geotechnical borings will be performed to obtain information regarding the subsurface soil, rock, and groundwater conditions. The potholing will be performed to obtain information regarding the location of existing utilities. The percolation test will be performed to measure the water absorption rate and permeability of the soil. The geotechnical borings, potholing and percolation test will take place within the project footprint. There are eighty geotechnical borings, six utility potholes and one percolation test located in predetermined locations. Boring, potholing and percolation test locations will be back filled upon completion, and sites will be restored to pre-project conditions. No significant ground disturbing activities or construction will take place as part of these geotechnical boring, utility potholing and
percolation test activities. The proposed geotechnical borings and potholing will take place within the County right-of-way. The proposed percolation test will be conducted on private property for which a right-of-entry has been secured. The geotechnical boring, utility potholing and percolation test activities will not occur within jurisdictional areas.
