The Greenfarm project, located at 8645 Palladay Road in Elverta, California, involves the conversion of an existing agricultural accessory structure into a licensed kill floor. The scope of work includes interior upgrades such as the installation of new drainage, countertops, sinks, and tile or concrete flooring. Additional site improvements consist of resurfacing approximately 1,000 feet of an existing dirt private driveway with an aggregate base to ensure emergency vehicle access and the construction of a 900-square-foot paved parking area featuring five stalls. The facility will operate Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a maximum capacity of 30 livestock slaughters per week. Livestock may be raised on-site or brought in by customers. The project is categorized as exempt under CEQA Guidelines Section 15303 for the conversion of small structures. Operational compliance is governed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and the California Code of Regulations, requiring adherence to sanitation standards, humane animal handling, and the use of licensed rendering companies for waste management.
