The General Services Administration (GSA) plans to negotiate a sole-source extension for CenturyLink's contract GS09Q13DLC8552, originally set to expire on May 30, 2020, allowing continued performance through May 31, 2023. This extension, valued at an estimated $15 million shared, is authorized under the public interest exception to full-and-open competition (FAR 6.302-7). The extension aims to provide additional time for agencies to integrate IT modernization efforts while transitioning to the Enterprise Infrastructure-Solution (EIS) contracts, ensuring continuity in service and support. The contract covers regional Local Service Agreement (LSA) work within the wired telecommunications sector (NAICS 517311), specifically in Arizona and Nevada. GSA has determined that extending the contract will enhance cybersecurity, improve both technical and operational efficiencies, and contribute to long-term cost savings. This action is not a formal solicitation but a notice of intent to negotiate, with Lucile Rios serving as the Contract Specialist/Contracting Officer responsible for this process.
