AI Contract Overview
This pre-solicitation notice issued by the Department of Defense's DLA Aviation at Hill Air Force Base seeks to conduct market research to identify capable sources for a specific electrical gun control component, NSN 1005-01-055-7373, P/N 11127-2, with an estimated requirement of 86 units to be delivered at a rate of 10 units per month starting September 1, 2026, to destination SW3210. The notice emphasizes that this is not a formal solicitation or commitment but aims to explore potential sources, including small businesses and commercial entities, for the procurement. The requirement is designated as a sole-source acquisition under authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), indicating that the supplies are available from only a limited number of responsible sources, notably Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, which is encouraged to submit qualification packages to become a qualified source. The contract involves technical and manufacturing data related to the component, including detailed engineering data for the Servoactuator Assembly for the F-16 aircraft, and associated technical data lists. Interested parties are invited to express their interest and capability within 15 days of the notice, and the government may consider commercial item offerings, although it does not plan to apply policies from the Commercial Items acquisition part. The overall goal is to enhance competition, improve small business access, and ensure the availability of specialized, limited-source components critical to military aircraft systems.
