Summary Description of Work: replacement of electrical transformers, concrete pads, conduits, cabling, structural steel, grating and fencing; maintenance of traffic; and related work at the New Jersey and New York towers of the George Washington Bridge and the vicinities thereof in New Jersey and New York.
This Contract contains the following Prerequisites:
A. The bidder must demonstrate the following:
1) That the bidder has a minimum of ten years construction experience and has completed (or substantially completed) as a prime or general contractor at least three contracts of comparable type and complexity to the work of this Contract. 2) That the bidder has a minimum of ten years of experience coordinating and managing work in an urban, highly congested area, subject to high traffic volume requiring maintenance of traffic. 3) That the bidder’s full-time Project Manager and full-time General Superintendent each have a minimum of ten years construction experience on contracts comparable in type and complexity to the work of this Contract.
A bid submitted by a bidder who does not meet the prerequisite Qualification Information requirements will be considered non-responsive and the bidder's Bid will not be eligible for acceptance by the Authority.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (Port Authority), in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age or disability in consideration for an award.
Additionally, all bidders (including proposers, and respondents, as applicable) are notified that the Port Authority will ensure that, with respect to any contract/agreement entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises, minority business enterprises and woman-owned business enterprises, as applicable, will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids, proposals and responses, as applicable, in response to this invitation, and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age or disability in consideration for an award.
