The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking Cost Plus Fixed Fee proposals for assessment of laboratory performance and testing practices for direct detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) in patient samples using Food and Drug Administration approved test kits for the amplication and detection of MTB nucleic acids. The contractor shall, as an independent organization and not as an agent of the Government, furnish all labor, materials, facilities and equipment necessary to design and produce report form instruments to record the testing results, and to prepare, label, store, package, and ship panels containing five (5) samples of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and/or other non-tuberculous mycobacteria to those laboratories that voluntarily participate in a performance evaluation program to assess the direct detection of mycobacteria using commercial nucleic acid amplification tests.
