The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract, solicitation number N00174-16-Q-0035, to Accra Tronics for the procurement of header assemblies. The requirement consists of 250 units of part number AT-7427 and 250 units of part number AT-7428, with an estimated total cost of 71,240.00 dollars. These components are utilized in the AF Rail program and fall under NAICS code 335999 for Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing. The government is pursuing a sole source procurement under Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, asserting that Accra Tronics is the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency requirements. This determination is based on the contractor's proprietary rights to source-controlled drawings, making the development of an alternative source cost-prohibitive and time-consuming. While the notice served to determine if other capable vendors existed by a deadline of August 12, 2016, the final decision to compete the action remained at the discretion of the government.
