HIERBA BUENA LA, LLC has applied for conversion of its temporary cannabis distributor license to an annual cannabis manufacturing license under the authority of the California Department of Cannabis Control, pursuant to Business and Professions Code Division 10, Chapter 2, Section 26012. The proposed facility is located at 655 E Gage Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90001, on a 28,780 square foot lot containing a 25,120 square foot existing building zoned M2-2D-CPIO for light industrial use, with no expansion or structural modifications planned. Operations are scheduled for Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will utilize existing municipal water, sewer, and electrical services provided by the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The application has been determined consistent with planning and zoning requirements under Los Angeles Municipal Code Sections 104.00 and 105.00 et seq., and is exempt from environmental review under Class 32 Categorical Exemption (Cal. Code Regs., Title 14, §15332). Compliance with state regulations set forth by the Department of Cannabis Control does not relieve the applicant from obtaining additional permits from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, Los Angeles Fire Department, or Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The submission includes Project-Specific Information (LIC-4013-FORM) as Exhibit A and a Project Parcel Profile Report from ZIMAS as Exhibit B, both confirming site conditions and operational parameters. While the application was submitted on May 2, 2024, the contract is posted as a forecast with no assigned solicitation number, estimated value, payment terms, or federal acquisition regulation clauses, indicating this is a state licensing action rather than a federal procurement. The Department of Cannabis Control remains the approving authority, with Calvin Yee, Environmental Scientist, listed as the primary point of contact for inquiries.
