OFFADD>USDA, ARS, ERRC, Administrative Office; 600 East Mermaid Lane; Wyndmoor, PA 19038 - SUBJECT>66 -HIGH-INTENSITY PULSED LIGHT SYSTEM AG-3JL0-SS-19-0019 09-23-2019 Point of Contact, Regina Dennis, Contract Specialist, +1 (555) 000-0000 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), ERRC, Dairy and Functional Foods Research Unit in Wyndmoor, PA, intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Xenon Corporation in Wilmington, MA 01887, on a sole source basis, to furnish and deliver (FOB) Destination a High-Intensity Pulsed Light System which consists of: one 1 Xenon X-1100, LH-912 Spiral Lamp housing with chamber and *Type C Lamp; Benchtop Controller; LH-910-Spiral Lamp Housing; Type C Spiral Flashlamp; LC 912 Chamber and a Blower Kit to be delivered to the Eastern Regional Research Center. Our research focuses on the development of food packaging materials for improving product shelf-life under various storage conditions. A concern with packaging materials is the potential for microbial contamination, and this pulsed light system offers a method for killing contaminants without compromising the quality of the packaging material. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely at the discretion of the Government in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 (current as of FAC 2019-05 Update 2019-08-13.) This announcement constitutes the only solicitation quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 335999.
