FDEP created a water supply pilot program for expansion of water supply infrastructure to support growth. The County and aDoor Development applied for funding to offset the total costs of extending the water main along Hwy 182 of the Chumuckla Water System. The award was granted to the County in the amount of 1 million dollars on a reimbursement basis. aDoor Development will be the contractor and will be selecting the subcontractor to do the work. The total costs of the project will be the responsibility of aDoor Development. The 1 million dollar grant reimbursement provided by the State through the FDEP to the County, whose role is limited to serving as a pass through for the funding, will be paid to aDoor Developoment once all monitoring is completed and the improvements are accepted by Chumuckla Water System. All design, management, negotiations, deliberations, monitoring, quality control and compliance are the responsibility of aDoor Development. The County will not be responsible for the selection of the subcontractor or for any costs exceeding 1 million dollars. Further, there is a HWY 182 shoulder widening project that is occurring at the same time as this work. No change orders will be accepted by the county as a result of coordinating these two projects. It is 100% the responsiblity of the subcontractor to coordinate with aDoor Developoment and the County's contractor for the shoulder widening project to make sure they fully understand any and all impacts to the scope of work for this waterline extension project.
