Hillsborough County's Fire Rescue Department is set to acquire two additional sets of Holmatro extrication equipment, including batteries and accessories, through a noncompetitive procurement valued at $96,278.00. This purchase is intended to enhance the department's existing extrication capabilities, providing first responders with advanced functionality that can save critical time during emergency rescues. The procurement is justified under the County’s policy as NAFECO is the sole authorized distributor of Holmatro products, possessing exclusive rights to market, sell, install, and service these items. The County maintains the flexibility to extend the contract, modify the scope of services, or increase the award amount based on evolving needs. Interested vendors who believe they can supply comparable equipment must submit detailed evidence to challenge the sole-source award by the specified deadline of May 13, 2024. The County will review such challenges to determine if genuine competition exists before finalizing the award. The procurement process emphasizes transparency and fair opportunity, with the primary contact being Tina Eramo. This initiative aligns with Hillsborough County’s commitment to ensuring emergency response readiness through specialized equipment upgrades.
