AI Contract Overview
The contract specifies the procurement of 5,852 units of a hook and chain assembly, part number NAS1090-2, manufactured to meet the National Aerospace Standard NAS1090 Revision 5 dated June 10, 2010, and referenced against drawing number 13873 008218404-20007 Revision dated January 7, 2020. The item is designated as a critical application component intended for safety chain assemblies and use with the NAS1091 streamer assembly, with strict performance criteria requiring the hook to withstand specified pull loads without permanent loop deformation exceeding 0.031 inch. All components must conform to dimensional tolerances of ±.031 inches unless otherwise specified, and dimensioning must adhere to ANSI Y14.5M-1982. The material and manufacturing standards take precedence over referenced documents, and existing inventory manufactured to prior revisions may be procured until depleted. Quality assurance is governed by the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, incorporating multiple RQ codes including RQ001 for tailored quality requirements, RQ002 for configuration change management, RQ009 for inspection and acceptance at origin, RQ011 for removal of government identification from non-accepted items, and RQ017 for physical identification of bare items. Sampling must follow MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331 Table 1 with zero non-conformances required for acceptance unless otherwise stated; attributes are classified with AQLs of 0.1 for critical, 1.0 for major, and 4.0 for minor. Certificate of Conformance is authorized under FAR 52.246-15 unless withheld by a Quality Assurance Letter of Instruction. Packaging must comply with MIL-STD-2073-1E, with specific preservation method 33 (cleaning and drying), wrap material GB, unit container BL, intermediate container E5, and pack code U. Marking shall follow MIL-STD-129, including barcoding for traceability, with no special marking code required. Palletization must meet DLA’s RP001 packaging requirements. The item is delivered FOB origin, with inspection and acceptance occurring at the destination—Cherry Point, NC—after a 171-day delivery timeline, with a need
