The purpose of this announcement is to provide an update on the Department of Homeland Security, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) Human Portable Tripwire (HPT) program. On January 18, 2012, DNDO approved the HPT Program Office proceeding with the efforts required to update the HPT Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and updating the HPT Operational Requirements Document (ORD) in support of the next program milestone review planned for October, 2012. The AoA effort has concluded; it involved refining the 10 operational scenarios in the current AoA to better define where HPT systems could potentially support CBP, USCG, TSA and State/Local Organizations' rad/nuc detection, identification and adjudication. The HPT Program Office is now focused on approval of the ORD and conducting "trade-off analysis" with CBP, USCG, TSA and State/Local organizations to determine the viability of currently available HPT Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems in support of the 10 operational scenarios. Upon approval of the ORD, DNDO will provide the approved operational requirements and draft Concept of Operations, if available, to Industry via FedBizOps. Announcement is expected to occur in July. DNDO will host a brief conference call on May 24, 2012 to review the near term schedule and milestones with interested vendors.
