The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has issued a solicitation for the purchase of a Hydrogen Dryer System as part of its Megawatt-Scale Low Temperature Electrolyzer Research Capability project, with the intent to award one purchase order. The system is required to support the new Flatirons hydrogen facility in Golden, Colorado, and must comply with SAE J2719 and ISO 14687 standards, specifically achieving a water concentration in hydrogen of below 5 parts per million by volume (ppmv). The dryer system is to consist of multiple independently operable dryer units that can handle a wide range of hydrogen flow rates and allow for both individual and parallel operation across various process streams, meeting the demands outlined in the technical specifications. Key details include a posted date of July 23, 2025, with a response deadline of August 20, 2025. The procurement falls under NAICS code 333998, reflecting the specialized industry focus, and there is no set-aside category applied, meaning all qualified vendors may respond. The contract is managed through the Department of Energy’s Alliance for Sustainable Energy office, and points of contact for inquiries include Janelle DiGregorio and Kirby Hoffman at NREL. The performance will take place in Golden, Colorado, and further information, including technical specifications and solicitation documents, are accessible through the official SAM.gov procurement portal.
