The Naval Air Systems Command's PMA-265 is seeking information from industry regarding the incorporation of previously approved Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) to the SUU-63 pylon, a component used in military aircraft. The goal is to upgrade all existing variants of the SUU-63 pylon to a single, universal model that better supports fleet requirements while utilizing common parts to streamline logistics. This effort aims to modernize the pylons to be compatible with current aircraft needs, thereby reducing maintenance complexity and improving operational efficiency. The government is requesting input from potential contractors who possess the relevant skills, experience, and technology to meet or adapt to these specifications, including details on pricing, lead times, and available stock. This request is an RFI (Request for Information) intended solely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment by the government to award a contract. Respondents are encouraged to submit a brief capabilities statement detailing their ability to fulfill the requirements, along with commercial price lists. All responses must be submitted electronically by the specified deadline to the Contract Specialist, and proprietary information will be protected. The government emphasizes that no payments will be made for responses and involvement in this RFI will not affect eligibility for future solicitations, which will be publicly announced on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

All variations off the SUU-63 pylon will be upgraded from their differing variants to one, universal pylon that will be better able to support fleet needs and utilize universal parts, thus reducing the logistics footprint. The upgrades being requested in this effort will bring SUU-63 pylons up to date with aircraft needs. The Government is interested in technology that can meet the requested specifications or can be modified to meet the Government's needs. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP), BUT RATHER A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) from industry that will allow the Government to identify interested sources capable of meeting the requirements as stated in this synopsis. This RFI is issued solely for market research, planning and information purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information solicited hereunder. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties in support of the effort mentioned above. Vendors can additionally provide a capabilities statement of no more than 1 page in length that demonstrates the respondent's ability to meet the requirements as specified herein, including the delivery schedule requirements. The Government is interested in receiving vendors' commercial published price lists for items they believe meet the need in this RFI. The Government is also interested in lead-time and current stock level. All data received in response to this RFI, marked or designated as corporate or proprietary, will be fully protected from release outside the Government. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP that may be issued. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: www.fbo.gov. All responses, including capability statements, shall be submitted no later than 3:30 PM EST, 29 March 2017. Responses shall be submitted electronically to the designated Contract Specialist, Joanna Schwab, in Microsoft Word format or Portable Document Format (PDF) at the following email address: joanna.schwab@navy.mil.
