The system must be durable enough to withstand drops from 4–5 feet, endure repeated decontamination cycles using paraformaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, and chlorine dioxide, support autoclaving, comply with UL standards, operate on 115V 15A power, and be ergonomically designed for use while wearing full personal protective equipment. All components must meet stringent dimensional and weight constraints: cages must have a minimum floor area of 280 square inches and an inner height of 11 inches, while racks and AHUs must not exceed 72 inches in height, 17 inches in width, or 27 inches in depth, with a maximum weight of 110 pounds. Each cage must include a J-shaped stainless-steel feeder, two 350mL water bottles with stainless-steel sipper lids, and a 3 x 5 inch card holder for manual labeling.
