The Program Executive Officer for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation is hosting an Industry Day event on March 2, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Orlando, Florida, to discuss the Modernizing Instrumentation Solutions for Test and Evaluation (MISTE) program. This event aims to provide an overview of the MISTE initiative and related Integrated Live, Virtual, Constructive Test and Evaluation (ILTE) requirements. MISTE is focused on leveraging industry innovation to develop, integrate, and deploy test instrumentation systems that support military system testing across major test centers. The program emphasizes adopting an enterprise-wide approach to modernizing test instrumentation to enhance commonality, reduce fielding time, and lower lifecycle costs, encompassing efforts from science and technology transitions to full development, fielding, and sustainment of operational test instrumentation. The scope of MISTE activities includes product line management, system integration, software and hardware integration, automated testing, virtualization infrastructure, system engineering, and model-based systems engineering. Additional tasks involve new equipment training, distributed configuration management, and provision of Testing as a Service (TaaS). The anticipated contract, classified under NAICS code 334519 with an estimated value of $700 million, seeks capable entities to support these wide-ranging technical and managerial functions. Due to limited capacity, attendance is capped at 180 registrants with a maximum of two representatives per company or academic institution. Interested industry participants must register promptly, with specific parking instructions and contact information provided to facilitate participation. The announcement clarifies that it is not a contract or commitment and that attendees assume their own costs.
