INFA-27-001 Indianapolis Homeland Security Program Equipment

Ivy Tech Community College's Indianapolis Campus is seeking a qualified vendor to supply new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment for its Homeland Security/Public Safety Program. This purchase, funded in part by a Perkins Grant, will replace aging SCBA units that have become increasingly difficult and costly to maintain, with parts often sourced through informal or out-of-state channels to keep current equipment operational. The scope of this procurement includes 30 SCBA units with integrated tanks and masks, 15 additional 30-minute 4500 PSI cylinders, four 6-gang charging stations, and three fill station adapters. All proposed equipment must meet or exceed applicable NFPA 1970 and 1852/1850 standards, comply with OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134), and carry NIOSH certification under 42 CFR Part 84. This investment will allow the Program to establish a reliable maintenance and annual flow-testing schedule, restore full compliance with current safety standards, and give students hands-on training on modern, industry-representative equipment as enrollment in the Program continues to grow. The College anticipates a short, well-defined procurement cycle given the limited scope of the purchase, and is seeking vendors who can demonstrate relevant experience, competitive pricing, and strong post-sale warranty and service support.
