Information Technology Automation Project

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs is advancing the digital transformation of the Iraqi Security Forces’ operational workflows through the Information Technology Automation Project, aiming to modernize historically paper-based case management systems. This initiative enables seamless integration across all ISF units by implementing a centralized digital platform that facilitates real-time access to critical data such as background checks, arrest records, and terrorist affiliations. The system allows officers to issue be-on-the-lookout alerts, cross-reference individuals against national databases, and enhance overall investigative accuracy and response efficiency. The project is part of a broader effort to strengthen institutional integrity and operational coordination within Iraq’s law enforcement framework. Through financial and technical support from the U.S. Department of State, the program shifts the ISF from fragmented manual processes to a unified, secure digital environment that improves data reliability and inter-unit communication. The implementation is centered in Beirut, though its impact extends across Iraq’s security infrastructure, with Jamillah Timmons serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries and coordination.
