Innovasea Receivers

The contract involves the planned acquisition of Innovasea acoustic receivers, specifically the VR2Tx model or equivalent, to support research on invasive carp deterrent methods and monitoring of aquatic species in the Great Lakes region. These receivers will be deployed in aquatic telemetry arrays to detect and record signals from tagged invasive carp and native fish species, facilitating long-term tracking of fish movement and behavior in response to deterrent technologies aimed at protecting the ecosystem. The receivers are part of a comprehensive IT system that includes hydrophones, data loggers, and telemetry software, which collectively collect and store acoustic detection data. This data is subsequently downloaded and integrated into geospatial and ecological databases for detailed analysis and reporting. The contract is managed by the U.S. Geological Survey under the Department of the Interior, with the place of performance designated as La Crosse.
