Installation and Services of 2, Uninterrupted Power Supply Units, RFP 130-26

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is soliciting proposals for a 100% turnkey project to remove and replace two end-of-life Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) units at the MBTA Police Station located at 240 Southampton Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The scope of work requires the installation of two identical 50 kVA next-generation parallel redundant UPS modules, to be replaced one at a time to ensure no interruption to critical loads. Key deliverables include the establishment of an alarm messaging system integrated with the MBTA email system and a separate annunciator alarm panel. Additionally, the MBTA is seeking an optional five-year, 24/7/365 maintenance and repair service agreement with a four-hour onsite emergency response time. Proposals must be submitted via the COMMBUYS portal by November 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Award will be granted to the lowest priced responsive and responsible bidder based on factors including integrity, past performance, financial resources, and technical capability. Bidders must provide a bid deposit of 5% of the total bid amount and, upon execution, provide a performance bond exceeding 100% of the price and a payment bond for 50% of the price. The contract requires adherence to prevailing wage rates, strict minimum insurance coverages, and the provision of current state electrical licensing credentials. Payment is issued via EFT within 30 days of invoice receipt, and the MBTA is tax-exempt.
