The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk, Contracting Division, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price contract to procure insulated duct to specification for the Norfolk, Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia 23709. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 326220 Rubber and Plastics Hoses and Belting Manufacturing and the procurement will be 100% set aside for small businesses with lowest price technically acceptable evaluation factor. The contract line item is as follows: CLIN 0001: N4215821646002, QTY: _150_ Specifications: DUCT, INSULATED, 12" 1: ALL INSULATED DUCT SHALL BE PROVIDED IN TWENTY FIVE (25) FOOT LENGTHS. 2: ALL INSULATED DUCT SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH CUFFED ENDS THAT ARE A MINIMUM OF (THREE) 3" AND A MAXIMUM OF (SIX) 6". 3: THE COLOR OF THE INSULATED DUCT MAY BE BLACK, BLUE, SILVER, OR GRAY. ( NOTE: REMAINDER OF MIL-H-18158E IS NOT APPLICABLE.) 8: THE INSULATED DUCT SHALL BE NEOPRENE COATED COTTON OR POLYESTER FABRIC, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR AND MUST BE WEATHERPROOF IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE SATURATION OF THE INSULATING MATERIAL. 9: THS INSULATED DUCT SHALL HAVE A "R" FACTOR RATING OF 0.7 MINIMUM AND 1.4 MAXIMUM. 10: POUNDS OF FORCE REQUIRED TO CRUSH ONE FOOT OF DUCT TO 1/2 OF IT'S DIAMETER SHALL BE 20 OR GREATER. 11: THE MANUFACTURERS NAME AND DATE OF MANUFACTURE SHALL BE PRINTED ON EACH LENGTH OF INSULATED DUCT, IN CONTRASTING PERMANENT INK, IN LETTERS AND NUMBERS THREE- QUARTERS (3/4") TO ONE (1") INCH IN HEIGHT. 12: A TWO (2) FOOT SAMPLE OF INSULATED DUCT WILL BE PROVIDED WITH EACH BID PROPOSAL.THIS REQUIREMENT MAY BE WAIVED IF THE CONTRACTOR HAS PROVIDED AN APPROVED SAMPLE PREVIOUSLY.
