THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to enter into a contract with Applied Biosystems, herein referred to as Contractor, for a 5,000 Reaction BigDye Terminator v3.1 Cycle Sequencing Kit (Catalog Number 4337457). The anticipated award date is on or about August 20, 2012. Market Research and a Sources Sought posting on FBO (AG-6125-SS-12-0002) yields there is only one source available for this item. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). The NAICS code for this action is 325188.
