Full Description

This is a notice of the Government's intent to extend the period of performance and increase the contract dollar value for the current Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC) contract. The contract is scheduled to expire 20 June 2010. The intent is to extend the present performance period up to three years from 21 June 2010 through 20 June 2013. If executed, the estimated value of the contract will be increased by $800M. The Government intends to negotiate with the incumbent contractor, Wyle Laboratories, on a sole-source basis. This extension will permit the continuation of performance of the current RIAC contract while the requirement is recompeted. RIAC is a non-commercial, Cost-Plus-Fix-Fee, Requirement, Research & Development contract that was awarded on a competitive basis. This is neither a Request for Proposal nor a solicitation of offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the Government's discretion. Information received by close of business 18 January 2010 will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
