The contract SPE4AX-13-D-9427 with Aviall Services (CAGE 22819) is set to be extended through a modification that will continue the procurement of General Electric (GE) sole source National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for the J-85 engine. Originally expiring on September 29, 2018, this extension will prolong the period of performance until December 29, 2018. Additionally, the modification includes provisions for three further three-month options, allowing for a total potential extension of up to 12 months. The extension will adhere to the original contract's terms and conditions, with the statutory authority for sole source procurement grounded in 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). This authority is justified by the fact that GE is the Original Equipment Manufacturer for the specified NSNs, and DLA Aviation currently lacks approved technical data packages for these items. The contract involves procurement under NAICS code 336412, related to aerospace product and parts manufacturing, with DLA Aviation managing the technical and contracting oversight. The point of contact for this contract is Contracting Officer Mary L. Smith, who can be reached via email or phone. The extension ensures continuity in supply chain support for the J-85 engine without competitive bidding, maintaining operational readiness and leveraging GE’s exclusive rights as the manufacturer of these critical components.
