Full Description

The 316th Contracting Squaddron at Joint Base Maryland intends to award a sole-source, contract to Sirius XM Radio, Inc. located at 1500 Eckington Place NE Washington, DC 20002 to acquire the SiriusXM Aviator Weather Satellite Data service. SiriusXM aviator data service is the only source compatible to work with the Garmin 530w Navigation display installed in the 21 aircraft operated by the 1st Helicopter squadron, maintained by the 811th OSS. This satellite data service provides weather and airspace information to aircrews, enhancing operations and safety. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the work. The contract will result in a firm-fixed price purchase for a base period and four (4) one-year option periods. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 515111, Radio Networks. The size standard is $41.5 million.
