The U.S. Air Force, through the 421st Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is conducting market research to identify potential vendors capable of manufacturing the Interconnecting Box, identified by Part Number 405-21001-3 and NSN 5975-01-650-1276FG, for use on the B-52 platform. This effort is not a solicitation and does not obligate the government to award a contract; no funds are available at this time. The goal is to assess the market’s capability to support spares procurement, determine whether the requirement can be competitively sourced, and evaluate potential for a small business set-aside. Vendors must demonstrate the ability to fully manufacture the item, including sourcing components, inspection, testing, packaging, shipping, and managing complex supply chain challenges such as diminishing manufacturing sources and long-lead parts. Nonrecurring engineering costs to qualify as an approved source may also be required. The estimated requirement is three units. The activity falls under NAICS Code 336413 with a size standard of 1,250 employees and targets a wide range of businesses including small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, and women-owned small businesses. The place of performance is Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, with responses to be submitted via email to 421scms.requirements.workflow@us.af.mil. Interested parties must use the “ADD ME TO INTERESTED VENDORS” button on the posting to participate. The market research window closed on August 12, 2026, and responses received after that date will not be considered. The Department of the Air Force, under the Air Force Materiel Command and Air Force Sustainment Center, will use the gathered information to develop the optimal acquisition strategy for future procurement. No formal procurement action is anticipated based solely on this notice.
