AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Air Force, through the 422nd Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for the new manufacture of the Interface Unit, NSN 5895015899678EK, part number 544R727G01, intended for use on the B-1B platform. This effort is a Sources Sought synopsis under FAR Part 10, not a solicitation, and no contract award is anticipated based on this announcement. The government is seeking information on capable vendors—including small businesses, 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, HUBZone companies, and women-owned small businesses—to assess competitive potential and possible set-aside options. The requirement calls for the complete manufacturing of the unit, including component procurement, testing, inspection, preservation, packaging, logistics planning, supply chain management, and addressing obsolescence and material shortages, with an estimated spare requirement of eight units. Responses must be submitted via email to 422.scms.afmc.rfi@us.af.mil by the deadline of August 3, 2026, 4:59 AM Central Standard Time, and vendors must explicitly select the “Add Me to Interested Vendors” button to participate. The North American Industry Classification System code is 336413, with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and the Federal Stock Class is 5895. Performance will occur at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, and while no funds are allocated for this market research phase, the data collected will inform the government’s eventual acquisition strategy. This notice does not guarantee future procurement activity, and requests for a solicitation will not be addressed.
