His Majesty the King in right of Canada, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), is inviting suppliers with experience in the delivery of construction services to submit a Response to qualify for the planned work for the various construction projects. This Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) defines the requirements for the qualification of Respondents for the Requirement. Interested Respondents are required to respond to this ITQ. Based on these Responses, Canada intends to select, in accordance with the terms of this ITQ, the Qualified Respondents to participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage of the solicitation. The projects will be for the upgrade and repair of DFATD facilities, including offices, official residences, and staff quarters in the 5 regions around the world. Work will include a range of construction services including demolition works, interior and exterior renovations / additions, security upgrades, perimeter wall, fencing, gates, bollards, guard houses, windows and doors, building envelope and curtain walls, exterior and interior lighting system upgrades / replacement, vehicle and pedestrian access controls, mail screening facilities, mechanical system replacement / repairs and other supplementary perimeter security infrastructure. Contractor staff will be escorted when in secure areas. Work will also have a provision for limited local/regional Structural/ Mechanical and Electrical Engineering design services. The 5 regions are described in Appendix D of the ITQ.
