Interpreter Services

The School Board of Brevard County, Florida, issued solicitation 26-1152-P-JD to secure professional interpreter services for students, parents, guardians, and district staff. The scope of work includes American Sign Language (ASL), Signing Exact English (SEE), Trilingual Interpreting, and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI), with a preference for in-person services during classroom instruction and formal proceedings. The contract is designed for an initial three-year term with one optional two-year renewal period. Awarded vendors must provide fully burdened hourly labor rates for daytime, evening, and weekend services across various categories, including student, parent, and employee interpreting. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the OpenGov portal by September 28, 2026. Evaluation is conducted in two phases: a pass/fail procurement review covering certifications such as drug-free workplace and background screening capabilities, followed by a scored evaluation of the respondent's profile and references. Selected contractors must adhere to RID and EIPA standards, comply with FERPA privacy regulations, and ensure all personnel undergo Level 2 background screening per the Jessica Lunsford Act. The agreement also incorporates federal compliance mandates, including the Byrd Anti-Lobbying Amendment, the Davis-Bacon Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity clauses. Payment for undisputed invoices is processed within 45 days, with the District utilizing Electronic Fund Transfer.
