The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-CCA-64159-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the California Department of Water Resources. The project is limited to the repair of an eroded section of the levee located parallel to Italian Slough. Project activities will occur along the access road on the east side of Italian Slough. The erosion area includes approximately 20 feet of the embankment from the edge of the road to the water's edge and approximately 80 linear feet along the road where high-water flow periods within Italian Slough have caused significant sloughing. Project crews will place rip rap to armor the affected side of the access road from the water's edge up to the road's edge. In total, an estimated 180 cubic yards of rip rap and 120 cubic yards of dirt will be applied to the erosion area. A small amount of aggregate base will be placed along the access road above the erosion after the eroded section of road is re-established. The total work area of the erosion is approximately 0.03 acres.
