The City of Lubbock is soliciting bids for 1,000 tons of sodium chloride crushed rock salt meeting ASTM D632 specifications for use in snow and ice control operations. Bids must be submitted as F.O.B. delivered, inclusive of all packaging and transportation costs, and must comply with strict quality standards including a minimum of 95% sodium chloride content, a maximum moisture content of 3%, and specific gradation requirements across sieve sizes from 1/2 inch to No. 30. The material must arrive free-flowing and usable at the City’s Street Maintenance Department. The contract has a one-year initial term with an option for four additional one-year extensions, and delivery schedules must be clearly indicated on the bid form, with failure to do so requiring completion within two weeks. Time is of the essence, and late deliveries without prior approval may incur a $50 per vehicle per day fee.
