ITB-27-001 Switchgear Inspection, Testing and Repair Services

AlexRenew has issued Invitation to Bid ITB-27-001 for switchgear inspection, testing, and repair services at its Alexandria, Virginia facilities. The scope of work encompasses comprehensive preventive maintenance, including inspections of anchorage and grounding, cleaning of transformers, and various electrical tests such as infrared inspections and insulation-resistance testing. The contract requires the provision of all necessary labor, equipment, parts, and consumables to service switchgears, breakers, and transformers. Key deliverables include a detailed preventive maintenance report and a condition assessment and asset health report, both due within three weeks of service completion. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on a specific Grand Total Bid Price formula derived from the provided pricing sheet. To qualify, bidders must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia contractor's license and NETA or NICET certification. Additionally, all proposed electrical personnel must have demonstrated experience working with high voltage systems of at least 4000 volts. Repair services will be performed on a time and materials basis, while replaced parts will be invoiced at a contract discount rate. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour is scheduled for August 25, 2026, and all electronic bids must be submitted via the eVA Supplier Portal no later than September 15, 2026.
