Full Description

The Department of the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN SAN DIEGO) intends to solicit and award a cost plus fixed fee indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract to Harris Corporation, Government Communication Systems Division, 2400 Palm Bay Rd. NE, Melbourne, FL, 32902-0037. The award will be on a sole source basis for fabrication, refurbishment, repair, technical and engineering support services for Code 2621 SPAWARSYSCEN San Diego, CA. These services are required to support the Navy Militarized and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Communication Systems. The communication systems consist of the AN/WSC-8(V)1, 2, 3 and the AN/WSC-6(V)9 Super High Frequency (SHF) C-Band Satellite Communication (SATCOM) systems for surface ships. The period of performance of the proposed contract will be one base year with four one-year option periods. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
