This contract involves a Repair Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) between the Department of Defense's Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mechanical Office and Rolls Royce Naval Marine for the evaluation and repair of various oil distribution boxes and controllable pitch propeller hubs. The agreement covers the period from June 30, 2012, through June 30, 2013, and includes specific National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for components such as propeller hubs, oil distribution boxes, and shaft assemblies. Repair orders issued under this BOA, especially those exceeding $25,000, will be separately synopsized following federal acquisition regulations. The procurement under this contract operates under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), indicating that the government lacks the necessary data to engage in competitive sourcing for these items. Interested suppliers are advised to refer to Navsup Weapon Systems Support solicitation language LA27LN, which governs alternate product offerings. The performing office is located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and the contract solicitation was posted as a pre-solicitation notice in early June 2012, with the effort aimed at supporting naval propulsion system maintenance through specialized repair services.
