The contract pertains to the procurement of 12 units of a cable assembly specified for repair or modification, identified by NSN 7H-5995-012753820 and governed by TDP version 004. The delivery terms are FOB Origin to DCX-Chol Enterprise Inc. located in Chatsworth, California. This acquisition is planned under a sole-source or limited-sources justification, as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, implying the government intends to negotiate directly with one or a few responsible suppliers without broad competitive bidding. Although this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals, the government invites interested parties to express their capability or submit proposals within 16 days of the synopsis publication for potential consideration. The government does not currently own or control the rights to the data required to contract repair services for this part from additional sources and has determined that obtaining or reverse engineering the data would be uneconomical. Consequently, the contract will likely include up to 100% options with a validity of 180 days to accommodate potential future need. Market research indicates that the acquisition will not follow FAR Part 12 commercial item acquisition policies, but the government remains open to commercial item solutions if offered within the specified timeframe. The contracting office responsible is located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania under the Department of Defense's Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support Mechanical division.
