AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of five units of a specific circuit card assembly and related replacement parts used for repair or modification purposes. The delivery terms specify FOB origin, with the items to be issued to Raytheon Company in Largo, Florida. The government intends to negotiate exclusively with a single source due to the lack of data rights necessary to procure this part from alternative suppliers. It has been determined that acquiring the data or rights to the data or reverse engineering the part is economically impractical. Therefore, this contract action is conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which allows for sole source negotiation. While the notice is not a solicitation for competitive quotes, the government invites any interested parties to express their interest and capability within a 45-day period (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). Responses will be reviewed to determine whether a competitive procurement should proceed, though any decision to forego competition rests solely with the government. Award will be contingent upon the offeror and product meeting qualification requirements as set forth by FAR clause 52.209-1. The contracting office responsible for this acquisition is located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, under the Department of Defense's Navsup Weapon Systems Support organization.
